CC * 42 or 50 miles * Boyce N Berryville out of Boyce, VA * 9:30
THIS RIDE WILL TAKE PLACE ON MAY 8
Both routes are lovely, surprisingly flat loops through beautiful, quiet countryside. We'll spend a lot of time in West Virginia in what might be the only flat part of the state. You don't need to make a decision on which route to ride until Mile 40. The longer route includes a short, 11 percent climb. It also goes through the picturesque village of Millwood.
The only opportunities to buy supplies are at a 7-11 at Mile 9 and at the various shops in Berryville (around Mile 31). If you opt to ride the long route, you can pick-up something delicious around Mile 47 at the Locke Store.
Ride leader plans to ride the longer route.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THIS RIDE LEADER'S STYLE: Please think of me as a ride "facilitator", rather than a "leader." This is a pretty flat ride, so I'll move along at a pace of about 13 mph. This is not a "no drop" ride.
It takes about 80 minutes to get to this ride start from I-66 and the Beltway. I led a ride from near this location in April and people seemed to say it was worth the drive. This ride is much less hilly than the ride I led in April.
