Leader: Ron Altemus
Members: Susan Altemus, Donaro Gardner, Robin Garnett, Fran Jezisek, Jackie & Randy Schoch, Esther Stewart
Route: Friday's creme de la creme - Indian Head Rail Trail from Livingstone Rd parking lot to White Plains trail head and return
Weather: heavy overcast with occasional very fine mist congealing on sunglasses; temps in the mid 60s; 7-9 mph airs out of the NE so a nice tailwind on the return
AMS: significant variation per rider
Mechanicals/Mishaps: none
Report: Randoplan/Dark Sky said less than a 10% chance of rain but maybe mist doesn't count. Whatever, we had a nice ride with no one turning back as their glasses misted up. Very few other trail users, though - only a handful of cyclists or runners/walkers. Donaro, Robin, and Esther tallied extra miles by cycling to the IH trail head either before or after the main group ride. Wildlife sightings were mainly of the reptilian nature - turtles in the marshes and small ponds and a couple crossing the trail; varying numbers of common water snakes trying to sun in the rocky spillway of the Bumpy Oak pond.
