Route: Friday's Fav - Indian Head Rail Trail, Livingston Road parking lot eastward to White Plains and return.
Weather: mostly sunny; temps starting in the mid 40s, climbing to the low 50s; air movement basically out of the SW
AMS: large variation, swept in the mid 11s
Mechanicals/Mishaps: Jackie experienced some shifting problems near the Bumpy Oak pond, which Randy was unsuccessful in overcoming by varying cable tensions. They cut their ride short.
Report: a huge turnout for a Christmas Eve IHRT ride, which was also the penultimate ride of 2021. Numbers attending were buoyed by workplace closures for the holiday (Carl , Esther, Janell), newly retired (Robin), desire for some stress free, non heavily traveled roads (Linda, Sherwood), and need for a few more 2021 miles (Alan). Addition miles were gained by riding from Indian Head Village Green by Linda and Sherwood, whilst Janell and Alan started at Bryan's Road, routed through the Village Green, and then returned via Bumpy Oak.
Not too many other trail users - a small assortment of walkers, joggers, and other cyclists. Only wildlife sighting that your faithful correspondent is aware of (since I saw it), was either a red-headed or red-bellied woodpecker. The head definitely had lots of red, just couldn't tell how much to make a positive identification.
