Monday looks like the best riding weather of the week, so come explore some of the country roads of southern Anne Arundel County, Maryland, on this 30-mile ride. This is a popular area with cyclists because of the scenic and peaceful roads, but we’ll vary from the norm a wee bit. We'll start at the Route 260 Recreation Area parking lot (gravel, with porta-potty but no water) and work our way east. Use extra caution at about Mile 9 turning from Route 2 left onto Old Solomons Island Rd. We’ll stop by a memorial marker of a 1949 plane crash and get a glimpse of the Fairhaven Cliffs on our way to the lunch stop at Chesapeake Grill. After lunch we'll loop through North Beach, up Route 260 on the nice shoulder, and work our way west back to our starting point.
