The Prince George’s County Bicycle and Trails Advisory Group (BTAG) subcommittee meeting on the Preliminary Functional Master Plan for Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (or Formula 2040 Plan) is scheduled for March 27th at 8:30 to 9:30 am. We will be meeting in the 2nd Floor Conference Room in the Parks and Recreation Administration Building at 6600 Kenilworth Avenue. The purpose of this meeting is to review the work that the Department of Parks and Recreation has done on the preliminary parks plan, particularly how it relates to trails. As noted earlier, the plan makes recommendations for 200 miles of new trails by 2040. The plan is very comprehensive and includes a lot of trail and parks related recommendations, so this briefing should be helpful in bringing everyone up-to-speed. Also, the meeting should assist BTAG members who want to provide input into the plan as it goes to the April 9th public hearing and beyond.
