It may be after Labor Day but it's not too late to visit the beaches -- in this case, Chesapeake Beach, North Beach and Masons Beach.  We've been there before this summer, but this way.  Today we'll go down Horace Ward and Cox, climb Leitch and go down Franklin Gibson before touring the back streets of Masons Beach.  Rest stops at the Dash In in Friendship, Chesapeake Market, South County Cafe and the Exxon in Harwood.  52 miles, 2352' elevation gain.

Directions to start:  From I-95 Exit 11-A take Pennsylvania Avenue (Md 4) 10 miles past Upper Marlboro to Waysons Corner, exit Md 408. Left at the end of exit ramp to Waysons Corner. Bear right at the light and proceed to the park and ride on the right.
