THIS RIDE IS CANCELED AND IS NOT TAKING REGISTRATIONS
This is a hilly, challenging ride. I would only recommend this ride if you have at least 200 miles in the (outdoor) saddle in the last month.
The ride starts at the Leeds Ruritan Park in Hume, Va. Once in Little Washington, it does an (optional) out and back on Harris Hollow (2.5 miles each way), then goes back to Flint Hill. Then we take Crest Hill to Leads Manor. Then there is another optional out and back to the Orlean Store.
As routed, no food or restroom until Mile 18 - Little Washington. Then, on the way back, there is a food and restroom option in Flint Hill. The Skyland Cafe is a good option (closed Wed. and Thurs.). There is a dingy convenience store about a half-mile off route, heading north on 522.
The route also includes an optional out and back (about 2.5 miles each way) to the Orlean store before heading home. The store has a restroom.
Driving and restroom details: From the confluence of the Beltway and I-66, it takes about an hour to get to the ride start. There is a restroom at the ride start, but no guarantee that it will be unlocked. Next best option with plumbing if you need a restroom is probably Marshall -- which is 15 minutes by car from the ride start.
