Enjoy scenic, rural, low traffic cycling at the Oxon Hill Bicycle and Trail Club's annual ride, showcasing Prince George’s County’s Patuxent River Rural Legacy Area, where farms, wetlands, and woods are being protected from development with Maryland’s Rural Legacy Program.
Routes These are the tentative routes for the 2025 Rural Legacy - distances of 22, 36, 46, 55 and 65 miles. Your registration includes free use of the RideWithGPS phone application for navigation with voice cues.
Printed cue sheets will be available at check-in and online about one week prior to the ride. Road conditions are monitored as the event approaches in case changes are needed. It is best not to download routes until close to the event time.

Rest Stops
Three fully stocked rest stops! The 35, 46, 55 and 65 mile routes have a first rest stop at a beach-front park where Magruder’s Ferry once crossed the Patuxent. The 65-mile route also has a rest stop at the Town of Eagle Harbor overlooking the Patuxent. All routes, including the 22, have a rest stop at the Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary. Roads are marked at key points.

-Ride With GPS routes and free use of the Ride With GPS phone app with voice cues

-food and drinks at rest stops and a
-full after-ride picnic
-mechanic at ride start
Starting Location
The Patuxent River Park Pavilion, [Google Map]----16000 Croom Airport Rd, Upper Marlboro, Maryland 20772 (Driving directions - scroll to the end)
Check-in and start riding between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
Riders doing the 65 miles should start by 8:00, riders doing the 46 miles should start by 8:30, riders doing the the 35 miles by 9:00, and riders doing the 22 miles by 9:30.

IMPORTANT Notes: This event is rain or shine. There are no refunds for registration fees and no on-site registration on the day of the ride. However, website registration is open until the ride starts and registration transfer is permitted.

DIRECTIONS: From Croom Road, take Croom Airport Road. Go 2.9 miles to the Picnic Pavilion and Group Camp Area of the Patuxent River Park. Some GPS devices would have you go the Patuxent River Park Visitor Center. Do NOT go to the Visitor Center, but follow the signs to the Picnic Pavilion and Group Camping Area and continue on Croom Airport Road. At the end of Croom Airport Road, turn right, go through the gate toward the picnic area. and follow directions from the parking volunteers.
