2025 Watermelon Ride
The club continues its tradition of an all-class ride after the Fourth of July that ends with everyone enjoying cold watermelon. This year, the ride leaves from the Indian Head Village Green at 9 am with a choice of 26, 35, 40 and 49-mile routes or an option of up to 26 miles on the Indian Head Rail Trail. The 35, 40 and 49 mile routes visit Goose Bay Marina, one of our favorite rest stop destinations, before returning to the Village Green for watermelon.
Information about the routes, with links to the Ride With GPS routes and cue sheets can be found on the RWGPS 2025 Watermelon Ride Event page.
Directions to Ride Start: Indian Head Village GreenTake MD-210 (Indian Head Highway) to the town of Indian Head. At the top of the hill, pass Indian Head Elementary School on the right and turn right into Lackey Drive. Continue to IHRT parking on Dr. Mitchell Lane.
Note: Nonmembers are welcome - but please note that the club's insurance company only permits a nonmember to attend one ride, as an accommodation to check out the club. We have a one-month trial membership which allows riders to join the club and come on rides to familiarize themselves with the club.
