Come join me on my birthday ride.  We'll do a shortened version of the route we did in 2023, a nod to a notably hotter summer, and unlike in years past, this time the ride corresponds with my actual birthday.  There are two routes, 47 and 36, with two different ride starts and two different start times, joining en route.

The 47 mi route will leave Mechanicsville Elementary at 9:30 on the Three Notch Trail, joining riders doing the 36 mile version en route, then continue though the Loveville Mennonite area to Leonardtown.  We'll stop at Social on Fenwick for lunch, then head south to Fairgrounds, take Brown and Hickory Hill to Bradfords Neighborhood Market before heading up Macintosh to Clover Hill, across MD-235 to Sandgates.

After a stop on the shores of the Patuxent at the Sandgates Inn, we'll climb back to Three Notch Highway, crossing at Loveville, taking Kavanaugh and Laurel Grove back to the Three Notch Trail (where riders doing the short route will depart, heading back to Baggett Park) and return to Mechanicsville Elementary.

If 47 miles in the middle of a hot July seems a bit much, there's a 36 mile route that starts at John Baggett Park at 10:00, meeting the 47 mile riders at Laurel Grove and Kavanaugh Rds 2 mi into the ride.  From there the two groups ride together until we arrive at Laurel Grove Rd and the Three Notch Trail.  As the 47 mi route goes left toward Mechanicsville Elementary School, the 36 mi route turns right, ending in a half mile at Baggett Park.
