Saturday Aug 23 is travel day to Cumberland MD if you're doing the Club's 2025 Great Allegheny Passage trip, and you'll go right past Hancock to get to Cumberland.
We'll stop at Hancock for lunch, then ride the Western Maryland Rail Trail to Fort Frederick and tour the Fort as part of the drive to Cumberland. At the Fort we'll witness the firing demonstration of 6 Pounder Cannon and Cresap’s Rifles. Cannon Firing will be conducted at 11 am, 1 and 3 pm each day.
After the tour of Fort Frederick we'll retrace our steps on the WMRT to Hancock, and continue our journey to Cumberland MD (approximately 40 min drive), arriving in time to check in at our hotels before heading to dinner in Cumberland.
Arrive in Hancockat 11:30. Lunch 11:45-12. Depart Hancock on bicycles at 1 pm, arriving at Fort Frederick at around 2. Tour fort. View firing demo at 3. Depart Fort by 3:30, arrive back in Hancock by 4:30. Drive to Cumberland arriving at hotel by 5:30; check in, head to dinner.
