We lucked out on a crisp, sunny day on Mason Neck, with little wind and a terrific group!

Shameful steal of ride description from Ron A: casual tour of Mason Neck, starting with an out and back on Belmont Blvd then retracing to Gunston Rd to the Mason Neck trail. We did a short spur on Springfield before rejoining the trail, then onto High Point Rd to head down to the Mason Neck State Park Visitor Center. Retracing on High Point, we used Gunston Rd to tour the Hallowing Point and Gunston Manor neighborhoods and then back to the trail. Gunston Hall and Pohick Bay Park were visited including a spin through the latter's campground. Another out and back into the golf course before the final short stretch on Gunston Rd to the ride start.

The route was opposite for me, and I enjoyed the views from another direction. We all stayed together for a wonderful ride, with water views, very few cars, and one road with new smooth as buddha repaving. Everyone stayed warm, and Vanetta got lessons from a couple of us about using her lower gears to get up the climbs.
No mechanicals, no one lost.
