Route: Indian Head Rail Trail east from Livingston Rd parking lot to White Plains trailhead. After a brief rest stop, retrace back to the start.
Weather: GREAT fall weather continues! Exceptionally blue skies with blinding sunshine; temp range mid 50s to mid 60s; 10-12 mph air movement from the northern quadrant
AMS: RL swept in the mid 11s; assume some riders were in the low 13s
Mechanicals/Mishaps: none
Report: a smaller contingent than usual as maybe cooler temps are bringing an end to some members riding season. Hope not as there are still plenty of good days ahead for riding. Of course, some people do have other commitments, even on a Friday morning.
Didn't seem to be a large number of other trail users - some cyclists, couples walking, a few joggers/runners, and a baby stroller or two. Wildlife sightings were mostly turtles basking in the sun. A large raptor flew over the trail on our return just west of Bensville where the trees form a canopy which precluded an accurate identification.
The landscape continues to show subtle color changes as reflected in the two pictures below.
