Ride Report:
The ride leader was convincingly dropped on the hill on Route 6; I think I was still recovering from the IH 100 century on Monday. I waited for the next rider which was Sue. We rode together until the end trading pulls at the front. We were caught by Mike Wilson and company just as we reached La Plata. The ride leader had an average of 19.9 MPH.
Meanwhile, Brad reports that he was more or less with the lead group for the whole ride and had an average of 21.7 MPH. Evidently, there was a close encounter with 2 fawns on Kentucky Ave. Fortunately, the riders and fawns escaped collision and lived to fight another day.
It was another fun ride.
I will be unable to lead the ride next week but Mike Wilson has graciously agreed to step-up and lead. Note that Mike will be starting the ride at 5:15 PM to accommodate the earlier sunset time.
