Today's 8:30am B-ride of 40miles was a joint offering from Accokeek w/ Calvin Conyers and Herman Young's CC/C 35/25mile routes. The temps were were typical Memorial Day w/ starting temps near 80 and finishing @ near 90. B-ride leader, John Gorman, was joined by Kenny Statom, Larry Greene, Shane LaBrake, Richard Harrington, April/Herb Pruitt, Jan/Ron Tucker, Jane/Jim Hudnall.
The ride used the reverse roads of the "Tour De Accokeek" over to the Marshall Hall Rd ramp, then a U-turn & straight back down Marshall Hall to the MD-210 traffic light. From there we went down Livingston making a left down Bumpy Oak, (the faster pack, waited for us @ Bumpy Oak), & then we stayed close to each other on the IHRT to the end @ Theodore Green Blvd for a reststop @ mile 20, where the CC & C riders joined us. We reversed back on the IHRT, north on Hawthorne and then some ins/offs of Livingston & MD-210, using some residential side service roads on the north side before crossing over @ Pine Dr onto Livingston back to the FireHouse.
The faster pack went ahead on the return, while John was joined @ the reststop to the end by visiting former OHBC member Laura (? from PA). Rider leader's stats: AMS 15.40, time of 2:39:52. No mechanical problems were noted. All agreed it was a nice way to start off and end the first summer Holiday of the season. Looking forward to reading Calvin/Herman's report; they had an even larger turnout.
