This is a wonderful route. Hopefully the many apple orchards we'll pass will be in bloom. It's well worth the 80 minute drive from I-66 and the Beltway. It’s similar, but not identical to the ride I’m leading April 8 – and we’ll keep things interesting by doing it in reverse. And the ride start is different. We’ll start at the Burwell-Morgan Mill. Park on the street near the mill, not in the mill parking lot. Locke Store probably will not be open - generally closed on Wednesdays. Bathroom may be open in mill parking lot. Otherwise, best bet is Sheetz in Boyce, several miles away.
We will move along at a pace between 11 and 12 mph. There will be rest/food opportunities around mile 20 and 31, but that's about it for indoor comforts.
