Linda Molesworth's comments added - We had a large B 43 mile group again. I started with the first group, largely made up of our Tuesday night Calvert county Fab Brew Crew riders. Alan lead the second group of riders. Both your fearless leaders ended up dropped by our groups. I had a flat on Christiana Parran road, and as the good leader, was at the back of my pack. No one missed me, but they should have at least noticed there was no music all of a sudden! It was a lonely tire change. Many kind riders from other groups following behind did offer help, but I had it under control and declined their generous offers. Alan took a wrong turn early in the ride, and had to catch up to his group, leading from way way behind. I think all our riders had less problems than their leaders. I did pass one rider on Mill Branch Road cramping up, we sent a car for him, but by then he had pushed through and finished the ride himself. The only comment other than high praises for everyone involved in planning the event, was that they the hills on the second half of the ride were much harder than the first half.

750' of elevation gain in the first half, 836' in the second half, so technically true -- but I doubt very much it was the extra 80 feet they were feeling. More like, they burned their matches before the rest stop and had nothing left for the second half.
